Process and heating transformers

The EXPERT transformer technology (full potting combined with water cooling) is ideally suited for designing process transformers for high-current applications.

With high-energy processes, specially designed matching transformers are usually required which enable the low-loss connection of current-intensive processes to the standard power supplies.

Typical applications include annealing, melting and heating processes in the glass, ceramic and semiconductor industries.
Given their special properties, EXPERT transformers can be operated in close proximity to the process, even with unfavourable ambient conditions.

This, in turn, means extremely short cable runs with the advantage of significantly reduced losses in the high-current circuit.
Both AC and DC currents of up to 100,000 A can be produced.

The output spectrum extends from around 10 kVA up to the MVA range

The power connection can be both single- or three-phase.

In the direct current range, increasing use is being made of modern medium-frequency technology combined with inverters.

Application areas

For power adaption in furnace systems in the glass, ceramic and semiconductor industries, for the conductive heating of forgings etc. Ideal whenever very high currents are required with comparatively low voltages.

The transformers are completely potted in cast resin and ideally protected from environmental influences.

The water cooling allows these products to be used even with high ambient temperatures.
